Inspire Moment #70: The Keep-Up Mentality

Many of us journey through our days, weeks, and even our entire life trying to keep up with something or someone.  We think that whatever that something or someone we are trying to keep up with, will serve us good AND that once we get “there” that everything will be better and happiness will take over our life.  Well, I have a little surprise…you have The Keep-Up Mentality and it’s time to flip the switch in your head right now!  That “time” of inner contentment will never come until you check-in to become aware of your current mental state and learn who you really are on the inside. 

Inspire Moment #70 The Keep-Up Mentality is unhealthy because it throws your balance off.  We all know it doesn’t feel good to feel “out of balance.”  Whether you are the Double-Alpha or the Blissful, when we try to keep-up, do things just to impress others, put on the facade or “happy face” because we want to feel accepted, it is only doing us harm internally because it is not authentic.  It isn’t WHO we are.  If what you are doing every day of your life(and how you feel) is not in line with who you are in your heart and your mind, then you have the Achiever Syndrome®.

The MOMENT is now to INSPIRE you to address The Keep-Up Mentality.  Once you come to terms with it and embrace that you feel that way (it’s okay!), then you need to release it and let go of it because it is now the past.

No sense in trying to Keep-Up anymore because now you are running your own race at your own pace.  We all win!

Inspire Moment #69: Stay Hydrated

Life is a journey!  Make sure to take time along the way to refuel.  Whether you’re walking, biking, running, or hiking, remember Inspire Moment #69: Stay Hydrated.

Now, you are probably thinking I’m talking about drinking enough water.  Well yes that’s important, but it is not the inspiration behind #69.  What I am suggesting is for you to Stay Hydrated mentally.  OK, so what does that mean?!  It means shake up your routine, take more time-outs in the game of life to re-think about WHAT you are doing with it, look at how you use your time (like I blogged about recently Magnifying Your Time), step into the uncomfortable zone once a week, make the procrastination list of things to do the top priority tomorrow.  Stay hydrated!

Just like you stay hydrated physically you must Stay Hydrated mentally in your journey!

Inspire Moment #68: Magnify Your Time

If you are concerned that there isn’t enough time in the day for all the things you have to or want to get done, maybe it’s time to take a closer look at how you are using it.    Time is something we don’t get back.  We can’t trade it in for something else.  It’s all we have.  It’s important to us.  We want to make the most of it.  So my question for all you Achievers and Blissfuls is this…are you looking closer, or magnifying, on how you use your time?  Are you using what you have the best way you want to use it, to the best way you know how?  Are you getting your tick for your tock?!

Inspire Moment #68 is Magnify Your Time.  Take a moment NOW to re-assess what you are doing at this very moment.  Is it what you want to be doing?  Perhaps not, but when you do have time after your work obligations, how will you magnify that time? How can you increase the size or amount of the time you have each day?

Maybe it means cutting things out of your schedule or just cutting it back twenty minutes to get back in touch with you or what is pulling you to do on the inside with your time.

The key is to find your balance of what you are doing everyday and HOW you are spending your time and what your heart and mind are telling you.  Now is the time to listen!

Inspire Moment #67: Don’t Harbor Who You Are

You share the last cookie in the cookie jar.  You share your seat with a stranger on the bus.  You share your business card with others to build your professional network.  Do you share who you really are with the world?

Inspire Moment #67 is Don’t Harbor Who You Are.  You are a gift.  You are different.  You are one of a kind!  In order to have a healthy balance in your life you can’t just keep all of YOU to yourself.  Don’t lose yourself by keeping it all on the inside!  I’m sure there is a lot to give and in order to balance the beam in your heart and in your mind you must step outside of your comfort zone to be free to just be you.  Simple as that.  Life is much simpler when you just be you.

Don’t Harbor Who You Are because there might just be someone in your life needing to see that gem that is inside of you.

Inspire Moment #66: Just Like the Clouds

Look up in the sky on an overcast day and you will notice some clouds.  Clouds don’t stay in one spot.  They keep moving forward in a direction and they sometimes move so fast that before you know it their is a blue sky and you don’t see any at all!

Inspire Moment #66 is Just Like the Clouds.  How can you have a pace Just Like the Clouds?  A pace that is always moving.  Each cloud moves at it’s own pace and sometimes how fast it moves depends on the weather conditions.  You can be Just Like the Clouds!  The inspiration to share is for to keep moving forward at your own pace no matter what the conditions are in your life.  No sense in keeping up with everyone else.

Even though the weather conditions may change in your own life, be Just Like the Clouds, and keep moving!

The best time to switch things up and try something new in your life isn’t always when you are at the bottom and desire, crave, or need change, but rather when you are At the Peak and things are going really well in your life.

Inspire Moment #65 is At the Peak and I hope it encourages you to try something new and shake it up when you are “in the zone” and at a happy content place in your life.  At the Peak is a place where you will perform higher and begin to see and live in your full potential.

Things have to change sometime in order to grow and whether you want to grow or not, things will change.  Inspire Moment #65 is suggesting At the Peak!

Inspire Moment #63 : No Retaliation Needed

When you retaliate against someone, try to make a point, prove yourself, whatever it is, it could really throw you off balance emotionally and mentally.  You begin to over-think things which could lead to a congested mind.  After last week’s Inspire Moment about the Congested Mind we know it has many of unhealthy characteristics.  Think about it… if you go out of your way to prove your point you ultimately are putting more energy and effort just trying to get things to go your way than you did before when you just left it alone.  That extended effort alone will throw your balance off!  It probably already has for years now.  So let me ask you this, is that worth it to you?

Inspire Moment #63 is No Retaliation Needed.  Whatever the issue is with something or someone, let it go this week.  Let it rest.  Let it fly away today in the wind.

Inspire Moment #62: Life is Simple

Inspire Moment #62 is easy…Life is Simple.  Repeat after me, Life is Simple.

Now, we all have stress in our life.  That is a given.  It’s a fact of life.  However, the way we handle stress is something we can manage. What do you think about that?  Maybe you aren’t sure what the best way is to manage your levels of stress but here is one thing I want you to think about…maybe what is causing the stress on you is you, your mind, and what’s in your head?

What if you began saying and thinking “Life is Simple?”  Even with all the deadlines, errands to run, obligations, list of things to do, etc., what if you just told yourself that?  I have “tested it out” and when I begin to feel overwhelmed I just double the dose.  Because you know what?  It’s all in your head!  The circumstances that are bringing the stress to your mind and body sometimes cannot be changed.  You might be stuck in a situation that you cannot control.  What can change and control is how you manage the way you think about the circumstances, deadlines, errands, obligations, lists, etc.  Are you catching my drift?!  Try it out!

Life is Simple.  Life is Simple.  Life is Simple.  Don’t let another day go by in your life, in your head, telling you otherwise.
