Inspire Moment #110: Pre-Game Warm-Up

Whether you’re playing in a local pick-up game, the next World Cup Final, or giving a listing presentation to a new client that wants to sell their home, a Pre-Game Warm-Up can make all the difference.  When your shot gets blocked or your presentation isn’t going well and you have lost focus, having pre-set mentality can ensure you stay focused when the going gets tough and you feel frazzled.

Being in the right frame of mind is essential in any circumstance. To prepare yourself mentally, visualize yourself performing at an optimum level, think through all and every possible challenge and those scenarios, prepare yourself for objections that will come your way, and having a Pre-Game Warm-Up will help you focus and win.  Don’t just trust me, try it for yourself and see what happens!

Inspire Moment #109: No More Loose Change

Change is often scary for most people, even if it’s in a positive direction.  It’s uncertain.  It can sometimes throw you off course.  My motivation for you behind Inspire Moment #109 is to encourage you to re-frame your mindset to thinking of Change really being a Chance for you.  Get rid of the word Change from your vocabulary now (unless you’re breaking a dollar).  Replace it with the word Chance. A Chance, an opportunity, for things to shift in your life, a Chance for uncertainty (which breeds growth), a Chance to be thrown off course (could be better than where you thought you wanted to go).  The word Chance has a positive connotation.  If you think of any Change in your life as a Chance in your life, you will get through more challenges, temptations, curve balls, etc., much faster, stronger, and more positive that you ever have before.  Remember, everything you have done in your life started with a thought, and that’s one of the only things you have control over.  Let go, test it out, and take a Chance!

Inspire Moment #108: Twenty-Second Time Out

They have them in NBA and NCAA basketball games, the Twenty-Second Time Out.  It is a halt in the game that is called at a strategically important point.  Inspire Moment #108 is about the Twenty-Second Time Out in your game, Your Life.  The questions I want you to ask yourself today is this…

1) When do you take a halt in the game (of life) your playing in to think strategy?

If you’re in it to win it, what’s going to be different about today?  Dwell upon having a more peaceful and joyful strategy.  Because, you know what?  It’s not just another day! (that’s the way I think at least)…It’s a NEW DAY to try a NEW strategy of doing, of acting, of serving, and all you need is a Twenty Second Time Out to start thinking that way.

2) When is the best time(s) for you to take your Twenty Second Time Out(s)?

Find the time.  The worst time of the day could very well be the best time of day for you to take twenty seconds.  If you don’t have a stop watch handy, I have a suggestion!  Put your hand on your heart for twenty beats and rest in YOU and your strategy for today because before you know it you will be back to the game of life…and life can change in Twenty Seconds!

So let’s take some action!  Why not take a Twenty Second Time Out right now?  Start by taking a big deep breath in, and then release.  You have plenty of time and when you are done, return for more Inspire Moments.

Inspire Moment #107: The Onion

Life is like an Onion…

Like the layers of an Onion, in Life you never know what chapters or layers might cause you to cry and tear up.  Some layers are thin while others are really thick.  Heck, that’s what happens when you peel an Onion, you cry!

So let me ask you this, if it’s OK to cry through the different layers of an Onion, how can you allow yourself to cry through different chapters in your Life?  Some chapters are much easier than others, while some seem like they take forever and get much harder as the days go by.  Other layers of life are a breeze, almost like the first layer you peel back of the Onion.  No sweat, that was easy!

Inspire Moment #107 is to help you give yourself a break and cry if you have to!  No matter how many layers you have to peel or tears you cry, I promise it’s all worth it.  Because when it’s all said and done, the more layers you experience the more flavorful your life will be!

Inspire Moment #106: Get Anchored

Do you realize HOW you start your day can make a huge impact on the WAY your day will go? Take Inspire Moment #106 and grant yourself some time today to Get Anchored before going out into the world.  When you take time each morning to get centered with your thoughts and focus on the positive, the seas will be much calmer and the waves won’t set you adrift.

Coach Angie’s suggestions below will help you get anchored before heading out to sea…

*Turn your Cell Phone on at 8am (That’s right, shut it off at night!)

*Stay in bed until you speak out loud “5 things I’m grateful for in my life right now are…”

*Take 10 deep breaths and sing out loud “Today is gonna be a great day!”

*Read a Devotional

*Expose any unhealthy thoughts by writing them out in your journal

WHEN you Get Anchored in WHO you are and WHAT you are living for before you head out, the day will go much smoother and you will have more peace!

Inspire Moment #104: It’s Time to Get Lost

How will you ever find direction in your life if you don’t get lost once in a while?  Take a minute and let that sink in.  If you are seeking direction, acting on Inspire Moment #104 could be your first step.

Coach Angie’s inspiration for you today is to encourage you to travel off your beaten path.  See where it leads you.  If you become anxious, don’t worry, because you will eventually find your way back OR you will be steered in a different direction, on purpose.  The goal is to just go with it because it’s Time to Get Lost.  Bon voyage!

Inspire Moment #102: Take Out the Garbage

It can overflow, become heavy, and it can even get a little smelly.  I’m talking about garbage, but specifically to the kind that can build up in your MIND.  Welcome to Inspire Moment #102 “Take Out the Garbage.”

Schedule some time ASAP to throw out, release, and burn that negative self- talk, those garbage thoughts that creep up and get old and smelly in your head.   You know the ones I’m talking about, the ones that nag you and keep you from getting to where you want to go.  Often times we don’t even realize that it’s garbage, because it becomes our routine thought pattern.  Coach Angie is here to inspire you to take it out TODAY!  If it’s keeping you from moving forward and evolving in any way, if the thoughts are not positive in any way, if you are feeling held back in any way, have you feeling stuck in the same routine in any way, or sinking in quicksand in any way, IT IS GARBAGE and it’s time to take it out.

I have several coaching strategies on how to, but the key step for me to share and encourage you with is to set a deadline as to WHEN you will take care of your trash.  Set a deadline.  Sure, you can keep it there for another couple weeks but it’s only going to get worse.  I will type it again…set a deadline to release, throw out, and get rid of the trash.  The first step might be the hardest, but the second step will be less smelly.  It’s time to take the trash out!

Inspire Moment #101: Bird’s Eye View

Google Maps gives us a Bird’s Eye View of the location we type in on the website.  From the initial Google Map perspective we are given a zoomed out view of our location and are able to see so much more of the area.  We notice on the map major streets, local convenience stores or malls nearby, how close we are to highways, parks, water, etc.  It’s helpful to gain this perspective, because it provides a sense of direction on where you are traveling and where things are located when you journey there.

Welcome to Inspire Moment #101: Bird’s Eye View.  This woke me up at 6am and I figured it was worth sharing.  Now, what if you took some time this week and took a Bird’s Eye View of your life?  You can’t simply visit a website and put in your goal or destination, and tell it where to take you.  I’m sure you wish is was that easy!  However, you can take time to locate where you are in your life and zoom out to see a different perspective and learn any potential detours you need to take.

As the “Activator” I always say, action beats intention.  The first action step is to ask these questions this week.  Give yourself a deadline to write them down and answer them or at least to brainstorm for five minutes.  Are their local compassionate people nearby in your life?  Locate them.  Do you notice major intersections in your life right now and need help determining what turn you should make?  Need to seek counsel?  I know a good coach. 😉  Could taking the Bird’s Eye View help you to determine your next step?  How close are you to pursuing the things that really drive you in life?  Like a merging onto a major highway, is that next move a bit scary to some of you?  Are your goals even on the map anymore?  It may seem like a lot to think about, but it’s worth it.

Remember, not to get stuck on cruise control and miss the exit for the life you could be living.  Taking the Bird’s Eye View could be exactly what you need to do this week.  Give it a shot!
